Sofie Coppens

Environmental and CSR Policy Advisor– Chamber of Commerce Antwerpen-Waasland -Alfaport.

Sofie Coppens started her professional career in 1999 in the environmental department of Solutia, a chemical company. In 2001 she joined Katoen Natie as environmental manager. Katoen Natie is a logistics service provider with business units active in petrochemicals, chemicals, automotive industry, consumer goods, commodities, port activities and engineering. She was responsible for giving environmental advice and following up application of the environmental legislation for about 80 legal entities within the Group.

In 2010 she joined Alfaport as environmental policy advisor. Alfaport is the federation representing most companies involved in logistics in the Port of Antwerp. Within this federation she is responsible for environmental affairs and CSR. Her mission is to provide advice towards its members on environmental affairs – as well as represent the members interests at local and federal government level. Since 2014 Alfaport has integrated in the Chamber of Commerce.
